Cartersville Library
429 West Main Street. Cartersville GA 30120
The Cartersville Library did a fantastic job of displaying the
work and hosting the exhibit and reception. There
were 24 original watercolors on exhibit for
two months. Also
shown were prints and note cards.
The library did an excellent job of displaying the work and
those attending the opening reception had nothing but praise
for the exhibit.

Roselawn Arts Festival 224 West Cherokee Ave., Cartersville, GA
Rain, rain and more rain. And we had been so looking forward to
returning to Roselawn after such a long absence. Watercolors and
rain just don't mix! Our tent leaked, so we were wet for two
days - fortunately, we only lost a couple of mats and a box of
note cards to the elements. Sunday, we made the decision to
leave the originals at home rather than chance them being
ruined, they had spent most of Saturday covered in plastic
anyway. Margaret appreciated all those who made the special
effort to visit her at the show. It's sad to think that this was
probably her last Roselawn.

Kingston Gallery Grand Opening and Artist Reception Kingston, GA
The Opening of the new Kingston Gallery was a great
success. They had a very nice artist reception which was
well attended. There are many nice pieces of pottery, sculpture,
jewelry as well as paintings. Mrs. Mines has several works
on display. If you are in the area, definitely stop by and see
what is happening in Kingston.
We were also treated to samples fares from the
restaurant which will be opening soon
― make sure to check it out while you are there. Look for all the changes coming to Main Street Kingston. Big things are in the works.
- July 11 & 12, 2009

Maggie Valley Summer Arts and Crafts Festival Maggie Valley Festival Grounds, Maggie Valley, NC
We enjoyed the wonderful 360° views of the mountains
― what
a gorgeous setting for a festival. We had a nice time and met
some very nice and talented people. We also discovered just how
much stuff will fit in and on a Hyundai Santa Fe. We were
fortunate that it didn't rain, although it did all around
the area. It waited until the drive home to start.
It was an exhausting weekend with the long drive and two long
warm days, but we always love being in Western NC.
